Were going to keep todays blog short. Talking about supplements, of the many that are out there, few are good for an athlete. You don’t need them, but they can most certainly help. All athletes should have their supplements checked with an athletic trainer before buying and using them. I stick to a normal whey protein and I mix in some BCAAs (Branched-chain amino acids) here and there if I feel like my body is starting to slow. Here’s some brands that I have used or seen used by close friends and have helped with recovery and results.
Whey Proteins:
Gold Standard, Ghost, Mans Sports, Syntha-6, and Muscletech
These are a lot of the standard ones used just to get the extra protein and nutrients your body needs.
BCAAs:
Ghost, Mans Sports, BPI sports, and Muscletech
The only brand we are adding here is BPI sports. They make great amino acids as far as flavor goes. My favorite though is Mans Sports.
These all can play into a healthy diet and only help. Next week I will talk more about a good diet and… a good sleep schedule, yes sleeping is very, very important in muscle recovery.
